The Golden Globes have officially kicked off awards season for 2023 in the very best way. Celebrating its 80th year of recognising film and TV excellence, the crème de la crème of the silver screen from actors to directors took to the red carpet in some of the best couture and beauty looks we’ve seen for a while.
There were powerful moments – Host Jerrod Carmichael importantly addressed diversity after previous years’ controversy – major wins (The Banshees of Inisherin took home 3 awards) and the proclamation of everyone’s love for Brad Pitt.
All eyes were on Jennifer Coolidge who made an outstanding comeback in The White Lotus for which she won Best Supporting Actress, after starring in all of our favourite 90s and 00s movies – remember her post-breakup bag party in Sex and The City? Or her shy, fun nail technician character in Legally Blonde? Fresh faces such as Jenna Ortega and Michelle Yeoh were also clear favourites after their roles in Wednesday and Everything Everywhere All At Once respectively.

Who: Having filled our youth with memorable roles from Sex and The City and Friends, to A Cinderella Story and Legally Blonde, Jennifer is back on our screens in a major way. Having stolen the show with her Golden Globes speech (in which she talks about how she wants to play the role of a dolphin) she truly deserved her win for her role in the TV show everyone’s been watching, The White Lotus.
Why we love her look: Fresh-faced with a subtle, smoky eye, Jennifer looks youthful and elegant – we love the glossy pink lip!

Bailey Bass
Who: Having starred in the huge blockbuster that is Avatar: The Way of Water at such a young age (she’s just 19!) you better get used to seeing her face around. Praised for role alongside Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington, we can’t wait to see what else she has to bring to the fantasy franchise.
Why we love her look: Her silk Christian Dior gown certainly made an impact on the red carpet, as did her perfectly executed makeup look. Fluffy, natural brows frame those gorgeous cat-like eyes, and that lip – perfection!

Who: A relatively new face making a name for herself in Netflix’s Wednesday, a spin-off of the family-favourite, The Adam’s Family, and that dance scene that’s gone completely viral. She’s quickly shot to fame with the success of the show, but you may also recognise her from the hit show, YOU.
Why we love her look: With Wednesday being such a distinctive character, it’s great to see a bit of Jenna’s personal style. Her double-winged liner pared with soft pinks on the lips and cheeks balances this look perfectly.

Who: A firm favourite for us, on and off screen, Margot has appeared alongside some of the biggest stars in the industry over the years from Brad Pitt to Leonardo di Caprio. Having started her career in Neighbours, she’s since propelled her career to Hollywood where she’s starred in huge blockbusters, including Golden Globe nominated Babylon.

Who: Selena has been on our screens from a young age. From the Disney Channel, to a successful music career, and even excelling in the movie industry, she’s always been in our peripheral vision.
