Spring Shades: The Only Shades You Need this Season

Spring Shades: The Only Shades You Need this Season

We know that floral shades for Spring isn’t exactly ground-breaking but hear us out. Rose and pastel shades are flattering on everyone. Fact. The versatility of these Spring shades means they can be used on cheeks and eyes too, so you don’t have to carry so many products around and your makeup across your features ties in more naturally, so that your features compliment each other. You can achieve that natural beauty look that we all strive to achieve, and, if that wasn’t reason enough, they’re just gorgeous shades that we, for one, love.

Just picture this. That first ray of happy sunlight that cuts through a mild day and lights up your face whilst warming your skin. That first day of excited anticipation for what’s to come; warmer weather and good times. This is the time to transition your makeup (and wardrobe) to something lighter and more effortless, and these shades are the best way to embrace the new season.

We’re sure you’ve checked it out already, but if you haven’t, try our Shade Finder Quiz to help find the spring shades most suited to your skin tone. It’s pretty easy to navigate, and it looks at your skin tone, undertone and colourings to come up with a suggestion of shades that will compliment you best.

Peachy Tones

To us, you can’t go wrong with a peachy tone. Flattering on almost all skin tones and undertones, whether you have a cool complexion, or are more olive or warm, these notes work with the skin to create a fresh and healthy glow. They also work particularly well with a tan, enhancing the skin whilst maintaining a natural look, making this the perfect time to add these shades into your makeup collection.

Peachy tones also work well across the whole face – try dabbing your lipstick across the apples of the cheeks and blending up to the temples. Any excess can be dabbed over the bridge of the nose to faux that sunkissed look. You can also blend the shade across your eyelids and smooth out through the crease in the place of an eyeshadow – using this shade all over will pull your look together and make it appear more natural. If you’ve got blue or green eyes, peach can help to make the colour pop!

Fes: a muted peach shade, created with fairer skin in mind to create a soft and subtle lip.

Luxor: one of our best-selling shades, this shade has a good balance between pink and peach.

Kampala: deeper and more rich, the peachy tones look great on medium-darker skin

Pinky Tones

Perfect for Spring, pinky shades are great to enhance any complexion. These shades are pretty without looking too much, they’re flattering and help give that healthy boost. Not feeling great? A swipe of lipstick in a pink tone can instantly make you look more refreshed and can help to eliminate sallowness in the skin, so you can feel better in an instant – or help you fake it ‘til you make it!

Just like our peachy tones, these shades look great dabbed across cheeks and eyes for a pretty flush, pulling your whole look together to give a more natural makeup look. We also love to match our nails for a neat, uniform look.

Eritrea: our best-selling pinky tone, great on fair -medium skin in particular, but also great dark skin with cooler undertones.

Marrakech: medium skin tone? This is for you. A rich, pinky nude shade perfect for day or night.

Uganda: Our founder’s favourite nude shade, Uganda has a slightly mauve undertone to add interest.

Best of the Rest:

We have a huge range of shades from the fairest peach tones to the deepest mauve nudes, and shocking reds to rich burgundies. While peach and pink tones are our favourite for this time of year, there are other shades that we also think look great for Spring.

Experiment, be inspired and of course, mix and match! The most important thing at this time of year is to have fun with your makeup look, and what better than a new season to try something new? Typically choose pink shades? Try a peach – it’s a subtle transition and oh so versatile. Known for your red lipstick? Why not go for a rich nude for something a bit different? With 15 shades of nudes and 15 shades of red, now is your chance to change up your makeup look.
